Mention the phrase "Stem Cell Research" and one will here a wide range of passionate reactions. The man who started all of this was Dr. Michael West. In late 2001 he made a dramatic discovery. He created the initial human embryonic stem cells which was published in the Journal of Regenerative Medicine.
The end results from multiple perspectives were dramatic on all side. Some were hailing it as one of the greatest scientific breakthroughs of all time.
