Let graphics speak your thoughts!

Have you got an opportunity to browse through the website which neither looks attractive nor are the graphics embedded appropriately? These sites are badly formatted and take a long time to download. An attractive design, when designing a website, goes a long way with the user experience.
The eye catching web graphics, appeal to both the users and the prospects. It is becoming extremely important to attract the users with interesting graphics and multimedia to keep them involved in the site.
The proper use of graphics in the website also plays an important role as overuse of graphics may lead to confusion. Hence, to incorporate graphics in the website following guidelines must be followed:
1. Appropriate use of graphics: Use graphics where and when needed, overuse may lead to confusion and thus resulting in bad user experience.
2. The text and graphics should be in relation to each other.
3. Overuse of graphics may lead to long download time, which will not suit the user well.
4. A website user does not likes to wait for long if the download time of the web page is more, so target fast downloading, which can be achieved by keeping the size of the graphics to minimum,
decreasing the image resolution and limited use of animation.
5. Flashy and blinking text should be avoided, as some browsers do not support it.
6. From the web usability point of view overuse of colors can lead to non-readability of the text.
Generally the choice of design remains with the designer but there are certain essentials, which should or can be controlled by the user such as an option to display graphics or not.
