SearchInform Technologies Inc. releases a new version of SearchInform

May 16, 2007 – SearchInform Technologies Inc. releases a new version of SearchInform, a corporate system of full text search and search for documents with similar content in large data volumes. The new version supports web-interface, a feature that will be particularly applicable in the corporate field. In SearchInform 4.0.01 support of web-interface has been added. Now, in order to find information, you don’t need to install any additional software on client computers, instead you can connect to the search server using web-browser. This also rids you of all limitations affiliated to binding the client versions of SearchInform to a particular computer. User-friendly Web-interface provides simplicity of use and anyone familiar with an Internet search engine will be able to find the needed information in practically no time. Now that web interface has been added, SearchInform offers functions which allow you to set client access to SearchInform search server via Internet. When accessing the server through internet, the system of user access rights differentiation as set in domain security policies applies. With this new innovation SearchInform has become cross-platform software. Now Windows platform is required only for the search server, while client workstations can be equipped with other operation systems. Now regardless of different OS’s, clients can connect to the server, send their search queries and get accurate results. Now SearchInform saves files for indexing added by the user in a separate file, which let’s you save their support even after reinstalling the program. The organization of system file storage was also optimized.

Another innovation had to do with the indexing process: SearchInform 2.3.01 now supports search in ThunderBird mail client messages, mIRC messages are available for indexing and browsing of MS Outlook messages has been optimized.

There have also been improvements in SearchInform Corporate Enterprise, which lets you index all of the available information from all the computers in the local network of the organization and puts it all together in a single database. Documents on disks, information systems, e-mail messages, instant messaging programs like MSN and ICQ — all that is processed and used in the query search.
